As a homeschooling mom my eyes have been opened to the wonder and enjoyment of living books. I didn't develope a love for reading until after I had been homeschooling a little while. So yes that means only in the span of the last 5 years.
Sad, I know.
Those of you who have been enjoying reading since your childhood, know what I have been missing.
Each year when I go to the used homeschool book fair. I grab anything that I think I should. If it's not priced to high of course.
So I have had The Little House on the Prairie serious on our shelf for a couple of years. I think I got them the first year I went to the book fair. That means Kaylee was 6 she is 10 and we still have not read them. gasp
Well you know I have good intentions.
I guess I have been waiting for just the right time. Kaylee loves anything we read in that time period. I don't know if we will ever be able to cover any other history. Since that all she wants to read about, most of the time. lol
Right now we are already have two family read alouds going in the evenings. Plus the read alouds we cover during the day. Not sure where we will fit in more. I'm trying to decide between starting The Little House books or the Kirsten books (American Girl) snagged those this year at the book fair.
What do you think which set should we indulge in first? Remember my girls are 10 & 5.
Well one of my favorite sites Raising Homemakers is giving away The Prairie Primer Pack A. The curriculum that goes along with The Little House Books. (Just in case anyone reading, doesn't know what that is yet.)
So go on over and enter to win. While your there take some time to be inspired by the many Godly women who take time out of there busy life to contribute to Raising Homemakers.
